Have a small case or bag packed a few weeks before your estimated date of delivery, so that you are well prepared should the baby come earlier than expected. Have the bag packed at 35 weeks if you are expecting twins or more.You will need most or all of the following:
*dressing gown,
*slippers,
*two nightdresses (which open down the front if you plan to breastfeed),
*comfortable loose clothes, such a big T-shirts, track pants, skirts,
*underclothes, including socks and nursing bra if you want to breastfeed,
*sanitary towels for after the birth,
*something to read,
*sponge bag, containing toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, flannel, soap, shampoo, cosmetics, tissues, skin cleanser, moisturizer, cotton wool,
scent, wet wipes, nail varnish remover, comb,
*essential aromatic oil plus electric vaporizer, flower remediers and homeopatic remedies,
*herbal teas (for example, chamomile or raspbery leaf tea for the labour),
*facial water spray,
*address and telephone book,
*phone card and coins for telephone (you are often mot able to use a mobile phone in a hospital),
*music and portable stereo,
*bottled water,
*snack foods to eat during labour (dried fruit, nuts and raisins, bananas, grapes, carrot sticks, crackers, cheese, yeast extract, cereal bars),
*sleep suits for your baby,
*lightweight blanket or shawl,
*mittens, wolly hat and outdoor suit for the baby,
*corectly fitted new car seat for your baby to travel home safely.
Don't forget to take one or two outfits to the hospital for your new baby to wear.
